At 1:20 p.m., Saturday, April 7, Loudoun County Emergency Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call for a reported structure fire in a one-story pre-fabricated residence located at 13957 Kitty Lane, just south of Lost Corner Road, northeast of the community of Lucketts.
Fire-Rescue units responded from Lucketts, Leesburg, and Lovettsville, with assistance from Fredrick County, Md.
Units arrived to find heavy smoke and fire conditions at the rear of the involved property, and quickly affirmed that all residents had evacuated the structure. Crews quickly engaged suppression tactics, and extinguished the blaze within 10 minutes of arriving on-scene.
Given the extent of smoke and interior fire damage that occurred, both adult occupants of the residence have been temporarily displaced. The American Red Cross was summoned and is providing assistance with temporary shelter and other essential needs.
There were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries.
The Loudoun County Fire Marshals’ Office investigated the incident and has determined that the fire was accidental in nature, estimating fire loss at approximately $30,000. Dispatched fire-rescue units cleared the scene by around 4:30 p.m.
