In celebration of this big event The Ladies Board has awarded 77 scholarships for a record amount of $123,600. This includes two anniversary scholarships of $5000 each. The winners of these special scholarships are Gina Harrison, Nurse Manager of the Pediatric Emergency Department at Inova Loudoun Hospital, and Bonnie Parker, Educator in the Loudoun County School of Practical Nursing at C. S. Monroe Technology Center.
The quality of applications this year was exceptional, and the diversity of the students is evident. Recipients are enrolled in LPN, RN, BSN, MSN and DNP programs at 28 different schools. Awards range from $800 to $5000.
The Ladies Board Nursing Scholarship Program was established in 1959 to award supplemental funds to worthy nursing students, and since that time it has awarded over $1,000,000 to 851 students.
Funds for this important project are raised by The Gift Shop at Inova Loudoun Hospital, Twice Is Nice Thrift Shop in Leesburg, the Lights of Love remembrance program and the Annual Ladies Board Rummage Sale.
