Roads to Antietam: Tour with Dennis Frye
Dennis Frye, Director of Interpretation at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, a noted historian and author, will speak on events that led to the Battle of Antietam in September 1862. The event begins with a talk on Friday evening at the Hill School in Middleburg which will provide the groundwork for the Saturday tour. The bus tour on Saturday will begin with Lee’s plan for invasion from Harrison Hall in Leesburg and follow troop movements north along South Mountain, to Harpers Ferry and then on to Sharpsburg, Maryland. Attendees will meet the bus in Leesburg at a location to be announced.
