Joshua’s Hands will present their 34th annual Fall Festival on October 8 (10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.). The theme this year is Autumn: A Season of Delight! The free event will be held on a farm right on Rt. 9 (at 38327 Charles Town Pike, Waterford, between Waterford and Hillsboro).
Those who attend the Festival will enjoy live entertainment by local and regional artists including Butler, Emy&Ethan, I Am Sam, Zion Springs Fiddlers and Johnny Kasun. Celtic School of Rhythm & Dance, and Blue Ridge Thunder Cloggers will delight the audience as well. Kids from 1-100 will enjoy Wildlife Ambassadors, fire trucks, the petting farm and 4-H animal exhibits.
There will be puppets, mimes, pony rides, kids’ crafts and tons of games. Heritage arts will be well represented with hands-on opportunities to quilt and knit, as well as wood turning, rug making and wool spinning demonstrations. Homestead Traditions, a local club based in Hillsboro will have demonstrations throughout the day.
This is truly a community jewel of an event! Everything is free — including lunch! This is only possible because of generous community support of the live auction (2:00 p.m.). Local, regional and national donations will be auctioned off to cover the expenses of the event and to support the work of Joshua’s Hands. Some of the items to be auctioned this year include Disney Park-Hopper passes, quilts, restaurant gift cards, sports memorabilia, homemade goodies and more.
