Patrick Henry College Wins Seventh National Moot Championship

Patrick Henry College has fended off its competitors to once again snatch the American Collegiate Moot Court Association National Championship.

After a win over a team from the College of Wooster last week, the small private college in Purcellville secured its fifth consecutive national championship, defending its reputation as the school to beat.

Patrick Henry College (PHC) is a private, independent college with an Evangelical Christian basis that focuses on teaching classical liberal arts and government. The college was accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. … Continue Reading

To Residents of Purcellville and surrounding area:

For those who have lost power during the current storm, Patrick Henry College is opening its on-campus shower facilities. The use of these showers is offered at no charge between the hours of 7am and 9pm daily. Interested persons must check-in at the information desk located in the main lobby of The Barbara Hodel Center. Please call Campus Safety at 540-441-8888 with any questions. Please bring your own towel and toiletries. Facilities will remain open to area residents during through the period that power is out.

Last Thursday night at the Planning Commission’s public hearing, an impressive number of citizens expressed their views in opposition to the proposed “Student Home” zoning amendment. We also received some additional clarity from Mr. Carl W. Schreiber, Executive Vice President and Treasurer of Patrick Henry College, about the college’s request. I want to extend my thanks to all who participated in the hearing.

My brief recount of the issue (I defer to Commission’s minutes regarding accuracy) is that residents were unanimous in their opposition to the proposal; the two individuals who spoke in favor being employees of Patrick Henry. Concerns about noise, traffic, parking and future legal issues were raised by almost every citizen who spoke. While Mr. Schreiber allayed our concerns about fast tracking this proposal, it was obvious this proposal is well ahead of need and requires thorough analysis prior to consideration. … Continue Reading
