Registration is now open for the ninth Annual Round Hill Hometown Festival 5K on Saturday, May 28, starting at 8:00 a.m. The course begins at Round Hill Elementary School on Evening Star Drive and winds through the town of Round Hill before finishing back at the school.

Prizes will be awarded to the first overall male and female finishers. Awards will be given to the top two male and female finishers in each of the following age categories: 11 and under, 12–17, 18–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60 – 69, and over 70. … Continue Reading

Throughout the year, Upper Loudoun Little League organizes more than 90 teams with over 1,200 baseball players from the ages of five through 12. ULLL has substantial operating expenses including maintenance of fields throughout Western Loudoun as well as the purchase of uniforms, equipment, and thousands of baseballs. Registration fees pay a good portion of the overall expenses, however, ULLL aims to make greater improvements which will continue to enhance the overall experience for our players. Once again ULLL will be holding at Hit-A-Thon as our major fundraiser to help with these ongoing improvements. Apply for Home Town Hero Scholarships

Upper Loudoun Little League Home Town Heroes 2011 scholarship applications are now being accepted. Eligible applicants must be a 2011 graduating senior from a western Loudoun high school, private school or home school who played for ULLL at some point as a youth. The application is online at ULLL.org or in the guidance offices of Loudoun Valley High School and Woodgrove High School. Fill out the application and mail it to Upper Loudoun Little League, PO Box 1122, Purcellville, VA. 20134, attention Scholarship Committee. The application deadline is April 15, 2011.

First annual Woodgrove Wolverine Shoot-a-Thon will be held on Saturday, February 5, at 4:30 p.m. at Woodgrove High School. Coach Douglas will be holding a free clinic for all WLBL players who attend the Shoot-A-Thon. Also the WLBL players will have the opportunity to rebound for the Woodgrove players during the Shoot-A-Thon. The Shoot-A-Thon will be part of Woodgrove’s Youth Weekend where all WLBL players in their jerseys will get in free to the games on Friday, February 4 beginning at 6:00 p.m. against Tuscarora and on Saturday, February 5 against James Wood beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Shoot-A-Thon will follow. Also the WLBL travel teams are invited to scrimmage at half time of the games Friday night against Tuscarora. The sixth grade team will play during the halftime of the Freshman team, the seventh grade team will play during the halftime of the JV game, and the eighth grade team will play during the halftime of the Varsity game. Come on out and support the boys.
